Best Vietnamese Coffee Shops In L.A.

Would you like your coffee with a side of sideboob? Foxy Asia Magazine has you covered.

If you’ve never heard of Vietnamese coffee shops, think Hooters but with scantily clad ladies serving you coffee instead of buffalo wings.

Orange County’s Little Saigon is the land of plenty when it comes to Vietnamese coffee shops—but how do you find the best one? Heading to a VCS may seem straightforward, but there’s a lot going on under the surface and more than a few factors to consider when determining the best LA has to offer.

We take our jobs very seriously, so we recruited VCS regular Tangerine8 to visit as many Vietnamese coffee shops as possible—from “classy” joints where the girls wear sexy ‘ao dai‘ (traditional Vietnamese dresses), to “sexy” establishments where the girls show a bit more, um, skin—to get his take on who’s the cream of the crop.

In the end, we came up with this comprehensive, ready-to-bookmark guide to the best Vietnamese coffee shops in Orange County. You’re welcome.

#1. Quan Moi – @quanmoi

15440 Brookhurst St. Westminster, CA 92683

This is my go-to when in OC (and it’s “OC,” not “The OC,” or as some of us know it as, the Orange Curtain). Why? Good looking, friendly and attentive staff, friendly management, pretty much every sport except hockey, and a great vibe to the place. My favorite servers eventually gravitate to here, so I tend to hang out with them. Also, for those interested, SFA fave Christine Luu (@_cluu) has been known to work the occasional shift.

#2. Cafe Dang – @cafedang

7771 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683

This is another favorite. If Cheers were a VCS, it would be Cafe Dang. Neighborhood bar feel to it. Actually, since there are still bikini beer bars in OC, it has that vibe too. Staff has a GND vibe to it, but definitely some Milf eye candy in the am, and you won’t find a nicer, more attentive staff anywhere. But a great drink/dessert selection and it’s the only VCS I know that will make sugar free sua da with stevia.

Establishment: 4 (great staff, great folks, but they don’t buy any sports packages, and the men’s room can be nasty at times. Wi-Fi is solid.)

#3. Quan Vui – @quan_vui

724 S. Harbor Blvd. Santa Ana, CA 92704

This place is a sleeper, hidden behind a strip mall across the street from the much more famous Cafe Lu. It’s not the largest VCS but has a lot of TVs, great coffee. Attractive friendly staff, surprisingly strong coffee. Staff tends to wear a lot of black, which is a nice touch. I should also add that SFA fave (and most beloved import car model) Amy Fay (@theeamyfay) is currently working here.

If you like scantily dressed hotties, this place is for you. Really good looking and friendly staff. I’ve always been fond of the management here, they understand customer service. Most sports packages too (although the ones that seem to be most important are soccer, NBA, NFL are covered here).

Coffee is excellent, good mixture of the bitter and the sweet.

Only downer is that coffee is $6 here, and you’re invited to tip the girls individually. So, to have a sua da here can easily be a $20 experience. Oh yeah…the other thing…good luck finding parking on a weekend…and it’s a big lot too.

#2. Cafe Lu – @cafelu

634 S. Harbor Blvd. Santa Ana, CA 92704

Perhaps the best known of all the SoCal VCS, it’s never been one of my favorites for a number of reasons: the location (I prefer something close to the 22 or 405, and they’re smack in between at Harbor and McFadden), the facility itself (until recently on the grungy side) and the fact they charge $6 for a sua da (more places are doing that now, but they were the only one for the longest time). They’ve always had the girls though, and it’s a pretty yummy collection from what I’ve seen…most have the model physique, long limbed and tight. They also serve food, but it’s mostly fried stuff at strip club prices…so that’s a pass. However, if you are strictly into eye candy, this is your place.

#3. Cafe 368 – @cafe.368

10947 Westminster Ave. Garden Grove, CA 92843

Nice selection of girls, quite a few hotties there, nice Asian/Latina/White mix. Coffee is so so, but good Wi-Fi and lots of TVs. Service is adequate. 368 uses large tumblers for the water and tea, which means less refilling opportunities.

They also I believe own Cafe 168, but let’s just take the high road and say I’m not a fan of that establishment.

You can tip the girls individually here too. Both 168 and 368 coincidentally have massage parlors next door to cool you off after getting heated up in the cafe. This in theory is an interesting marketing concept but my understanding is in practice, since it’s some random Chinese auntie giving the massage and not any of the girls you just left, might just be a better idea to skip it.

Parking is definitely a challenge during the day at 368.
