Let’s pretend it’s still summer.

It’s a beach day for Maria and Star, and these Australian models are a sun kissed dream. Whether they’re striking a few sexy poses together, or rolling around topless in the sand, these busty beauties give any beach scene a little extra eye candy.

Yeah, we realize it’s winter, but Maria and Star’s hot bods and glowing skin radiate warmth even on the grayest day. Maria and Star, you are our sunshine – especially when you take off your bikini tops.

Foxy Asia Magazine caught up with photographer Johny Jordan, who captured these beach bunnies in all their sand-coated glory. Here’s what we got.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us how you got into photography?

Name is Johny Jordan. I’m a lifestyle/fashion photographer from Sydney Australia. I first got into photography when I received my legendary Panasonic GF1 back in ‘09. All I photographed back then was my family holidays in Thailand. Having the camera inspired me to explore different subjects and I was hooked!

How would you describe your style of photography? How did you go about creating your own style?

Raw and edgy, I’m a big fan of dirty gritty textures and love telling stories with my pictures. You need to be passionate about your own photos, find interest in what you want to shoot. I like to be inspired so I do a lot of research, always looking at a lot of kickass photographers, analyzing their styles and developing my own take on some of the concepts I love.

Where did the shoot take place? What made this location the perfect place to set up shop?

During the summer of 2016. We shot at my go-to place, a nudist beach in Sydney called La Perouse. The godfather of glamour photography @kounelliphotography likes to call that place my studio! I like to get in early tho, at the crack of dawn coz it attracts a wide range of strange people, and I’m talkin weird! This one time there was this dude totally killing the vibe on set! He had a cock ring on and was watching us shoot with an intense stare. We also had a random masturbating in an open tent. WTF!!

All that aside tho, what attracted me to this beach was the lighting lol. I can use the cave as a studio I don’t have.

What did you like the most about working with Maria and Star?

They’re both short like me lol. I’ve known the girls for years now and they were with me from the beginning of my journey. We’re super tight.

How do you decide whether a shot will be a good photo? What do you look for?

I decide by looking at the set and keeping an eye out for the ones that POP out to me. I’m looking at the lighting, the human emotion I’ve captured and the framing. All the little elements that make it a killer photo. I’m fascinated by people, everything from how people act to their bodies and their personalities.

How important is Photoshop in your final images?

I was never into Photoshop being in my 40s, I’m pretty old school and am so used to raw and unedited images. It was only about 6 months ago, my friend @justinfoxau taught me the art of framing and some Photoshop basics. Fast forward 6 months and I’m learning new shit every day. I’m so grateful to have a strong network of tog friends, who give me good advice and teach me new techniques.

Before we let you go, any final words you’d like to say to your fans and followers? Anyone in particular you’d like to send a shout out to?

I’d say to those up-and-comers out there, trying to find your niche… focus on what you want to shoot and not what you think others want to see. People always say this, but it will always be true. When I see young photographers’ portfolios, I can always tell the difference between the photos they’re passionate about and the ones they just took coz it’s what social media wants to see. The work I feel most inspired by is the work they were most inspired to make.

Shout out to the circle of Togs & Models back home who shot with me from the start of this journey, without you none of this would have happened. Most of all shout out to the one who keeps pushing me @Nic_mesker the real O.G.
